FAQ

What is Meditation?

A mental practice focusing on the present moment.

Meditation Postures

Common meditation postures include the traditional full lotus, half-lotus, kneeling, chair sitting, and lying postures. The ability to meditate in any of the sitting or kneeling postures will vary based on the flexibility of your ankles, knees, and hips. In most cases, some type of support is needed in order to maintain proper spine alignment and comfort during meditation.

Why do I need a meditation cushion?

The mediation cushion will support your sitting posture and improve the comfort level for your mediation. Having your knees lower than your hips takes pressure off your back to creates a natural straightening of the spine creating a harmonious ergonomic posture perfect for extended periods of sitting. Now that your body is in natural alignment, you can focus fully on the flow of your breathing, staying alert and aware throughout your practice.  Having a cushion that is aesthetically pleasing is a bonus. Our cushion designs are made to blend into any living room, no matter the decor.

Why else can I use the cushion for?

The cushion can also be used as additional floor seating for group events and as a floor seating while you play with your kids or grandkids. They can also be used as Yoga bolsters during Yoga practices. NOBL Cushions is a safe, fun, and hypoallergenic option for floor seating.

What if I can't sit half lotus, or cross legged?

Our cushions can be propped vertically and straddled for a supported kneeling posture. Our NOBL Triangle cushion is great for this; however, it is recommended you work your way to a cross legged posture, as this the best form for meditation. Yoga and hip stretches are a great way to work your way to an extended practice.
